Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How many decks of regular cards will it shuffle at one time?
The MAX6 can shuffle up to two full decks of standard playing cards at a time.
-
What if I have more players than remotes? Can I still play poker, or would that mess up the game? Also, can you program games that aren’t already built into the shuffler?
Yes, having fewer remotes than players will not affect gameplay.
For Poker, remotes aren’t required at all. Poker doesn’t involve drawing cards mid-round, so you can use the deal button on the unit to deal each phase of the hand. If you choose to use a remote, it’s simply for added convenience, and only one remote is needed, as it will advance the round exactly the same way as the deal button on the machine.
For games that aren’t built in, the MAX6 includes a Custom Mode. You can create your own game by selecting the number of players, cards per player, and adjusting a number of other settings as needed. This makes it easy to run virtually any card game, even if it isn’t listed as a preset.
-
How strong is the toss. Will it get from one end to the other on a 96 inch table?
The dealing distance is adjustable with three settings: Close, Mid, and Far. On the Far setting, cards typically slide out about 2–3 feet from the machine. While it won’t reach all the way across an 8-foot (96") table from one end to the other, placing the machine in the middle of the table allows it to comfortably reach all players.
-
Why would I need 12 remotes?
The remotes are used for drawing cards in games like UNO, Phase 10, and Crazy Eights. For example, if a Draw 4 is played in UNO, the player can simply press their remote four times to receive their cards.
Having 12 remotes allows every player to have their own controller without needing to share.
-
Would this work with tcg cards? i.e (pokemon, or magic the gathering) if so, would it also work if each card was sleeved?
Yes, the MAX6 is compatible with standard TCG cards (like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon cards), as they are typically the same size as standard poker cards.
Regarding sleeves, the MAX6 works well with slim, standard-fit sleeves. However, oversized or very thick protective sleeves may cause jamming and are generally not recommended for optimal performance. -
I see that it can handle the flop, turn, and river in Hold’em. How does it handle the burn cards?
The MAX6 handles burn cards automatically. After dealing the hole cards, each press of the deal button will burn the appropriate card before dealing the flop, turn, or river in the correct order.
-
Can you use plastic playing cards like Copag or Faded Spade with the shuffler/dealer?
Yes. The MAX6 works with plastic playing cards such as Copag and Faded Spade. As they are standard poker-size, the machine handles them just as smoothly as paper cards.
-
With texas hold-em, if for example player 4 out of the 7 players bust's out, can you skip just the player 4 position in the next deal?
Yes, you can adjust the MAX6 to deal to fewer players as people bust out. For example, from 7 down to 6. Just note that it won't skip specific seat positions; it will deal to the first 6 spots in order. If someone leaves the game, you can either shift seating slightly or simply collect your cards, even if they're not dealt directly to you.
-
1. Can it deal any game, or just poker? 2. Can it shuffle more than one deck?
The MAX6 isn’t limited to poker. It supports custom game settings, allowing you to adjust things like the number of players, cards per player, and a number of other settings which makes it compatible with many card games beyond poker.
It can also shuffle up to two full decks of standard playing cards at once.
-
Will this work for Spades and deal the entire deck out to 4 players?
Yes, it works great for Spades. The MAX6 can easily be set to deal a full deck of 52 cards equally among 4 players.
-
Will it deal 10 people for Texas Hold 'em?
Yes. It can deal for a maximum of up to 10 players in its Texas Hold'em setting.
-
How many times do I need to reinsert the cards for a good shuffle?
In most cases, one pass is enough. A single shuffle in the machine provides a level of randomness comparable to 3-4 manual shuffles.
If you want extra mixing, you can reinsert the deck once more or give it a quick manual shuffle beforehand but this is completely optional.
-
Can it be used in 2 player Cribbage?
Yes. The MAX6 is fully capable of handling the requirements for two-player cribbage, shuffling and dealing the necessary six cards per player for each round.
-
Can this be used for Skyjo or 5 Crowns?
Yes. The MAX6 works for both Skyjo and Five Crowns.
It can deal the required number of cards per player and supports adjustable card counts and multiple decks, which covers Five Crowns’ changing rounds and Skyjo’s setup with no issue.
